Acknowledgments

This Canadian edition of Sugar Mule is only possible because of the contributions of dozens of people. First, of course, I would to thank all the poets from across Canada who responded so fully and quickly, not only to my requests for their work, but, in many cases, to my suggestions for revisions. I know how annoying unsolicited editorial advice can be—so thanks for your generosity.

Gwen Frankton's lovely paintings of the land in Nunavut form a great introduction to the issue—thank you!

And thanks above all to the editor of Sugar Mule, M. L. Weber, for asking me to produce a Canadian issue, and then for working with me for over a year to ensure that it matched my individual vision—while I missed deadline after deadline and finally presented him with a manuscript a full six months later than projected.

As always, I'd like to thank my husband Ian for his constant and almost uncomplaining support as I pound away on the computer late into the night.

My final gratitude is offered to those who read and love poetry the world over, and who make projects like these worth doing.
