TALKING WITH BOB In September 2012, Guy Begbie and Lawrence Upton had a 21 day exhibition of their collaborative works in The Sheppard Library in Hendon. Hendon is where Bob Cobbing started Writers Forum and other activities. In September 2012, it was the tenth anniversary of Bob's death. The central exhibit in the exhibition was the latest work from Begbie and Upton: Dialogue with Bob Cobbing. But also exhibited were maquettes for a planned installation to be called TALKING WITH BOB, which is sourced from the same material as Dialogue with Bob Cobbing. The following images are from the still unrealised work.
Guy Begbie is an established book artist & designer. He has been teaching in UK Universities since 1995. As a multi-disciplinary artist & designer, he makes works that extend parameters regarding concept and production approaches to the book form. His current arts practice concerns paper engineering, and the transition from the two to a sculptural three dimensional as a means of interpretation of time based non-linear & sequential narrative.
