Matthew Robertson is a designer specialising in typography and publication design. He has also worked in film-title design and music packaging for various bands including Underground Lovers and Severed Heads. In 2006, he wrote and co-designed a monograph documenting the visual legacy of Factory Records. He has a keen interest in sound, visual and concrete poetry and has attended the Writers Forum Workshop since 2011. His work has appeared in Pocket Litter and Writers Forum plans to publish a collection of his visual poems this winter (2012/13). Originally from Australia, he now lives, works and teaches design in Bath.

ess/ata/tte was performed at Writers Forum Workshop on 5th May 2012 by Matt Robertson (voice), Lawrence Upton (voice), Uran Apak (voice) and Benedict Taylor (viola). A recording was edited by Lawrence Upton at EMS, Goldsmiths, University of London on 16th May 2012 and now exists as a stereo work of 6 minutes and 57 seconds.
